Using Credit Card Rewards
If you pay your credit cards off every month, you can earn bonus money from credit card rewards. Because of the difficulty of black out dates and other exclusions, I don’t bother with travel cards. Instead, I go for pure cash back.
For favorite is Discover credit card rewards, which normally give me 1% back. While this doesn’t seem like much, if you use it regularly for big expenses like child care, groceries, travel, etc it can grow to be quite large. And you can use it whenever $20 accrues.
I have my rewards linked to my amazon account, so often I get my amazon items with this found money. It’s even paid for my holiday shopping some years. Which is a good finace tip and way to build savings instead of expenses for holiday shopping.
Mastercard/Visa Options for REI Credit Card Rewards
Maximizing credit card rewards can come on other cards that are also widely accepted. My branded Mastercard gives me REI credit card rewards of 3% credit when shopping at REI. Being in the Seattle area this is a buy-local option for me that supports more sustainable companies. And it’s a 1% store credit for elsewhere.
So it’s a good secondary card for me that enables purchases like a kids’ bike one year or this year a number of shoes. Combined with their sales, it’s a way to Black Belt your Finances, which I hope you’ll all try to do. These will help you to attain Financial Independence. Maybe even retire early as in the FIRE concept — Financial Independence Retire Early.
Are you using your credit card rewards? If so what and how?
I really like reading a post that will make meen and women think.
